Books Wanted poster

Last week I reviewed Shadow Woman by Linda Howard, and expressed my disappointment in the latest installment from a much-loved author. Usually, when this happens, I reread old favorites. This time, however, I’ve been listening to all my old favorites on audiobook (I can get them from my library now!), so that wasn’t an option for me. Thus, finishing Shadow Woman left me with a craving–and it’s one I need help filling.

Lately, I have not been reading much Romantic Suspense. Indeed, I have not been reading much adult fiction (why is it that publishers seem most willing to send review copies of YA?), and this is a fact that I’ve been wanting to change. I’m in the mood for a good thriller with an alpha hero and a well-written non-romantic storyline. Heck, I’ll even take a non-alpha hero…so long as he’s hot.

Who does this style well? Linda Howard, obviously. But I also love:

Now it’s your turn! Who are your Romantic Suspense standards? Here are a few authors I’ve heard about, but never read:

Where do I even start with these ladies? Would you recommend them, or do you have better suggestions? C’mon, guys! Help a girl out!

Go on, tell the world!

i like justine davis ( operation midnigth is firt of the cutter’s series)

  2. My favorite genre. Hands-down, I would recommend Christy Reece, but Roxanne St. Claire and Cindy Gerard are also big-time favorites. If you don’t want to get sucked into a huge series…Christy’s and Cindy’s have around 6 books….start with Roxanne’s The Guardian Angelino’s. There’s only 3 in that series. BTW, I write in this genre too. If you want some review books, send me an email. snowchris_01@yahoo.com smiles…

  5. -The Black Knights, Inc. series by Julie Ann Walker
-The Ash Trilogy by Shiloh Walker
    -Operation: Endgame by Christi Snow
-The Men Who Walk the Edge of Honor series by Lori Foster
-The Heart of a Killer by Jaci Burton
-Inside and In Seconds by Brenda Novak (I didn’t like the 3rd book in that trilogy)
    -Broken by Shiloh Walker

I’ve read 2 Karen Rose books so far and loved them. Great multi-layered romantic suspense novels.

Oh! Such a great genre! I think one of my favorite romantic suspense authors is Allison Brennan. That woman can scare the bejeebers out of me. ;) She is definitely worth reading! Most of her books are written in trilogies.
