Not that long ago, I declared myself a readathon free zone. Thing is, however, this week is my vacation–a staycation, really, as I’m not going anywhere or doing anything. Mostly, I’ll be hanging out at home, in front of the a/c and trying not to melt into a puddle of liquid Ruby. I plan to work on blog stuff, but I also want to read, read, read. I need to get some major relaxation time in before the new school year begins. So. Here goes nothing!
Time Devoted to Reading
My Goals
- Read seven books
- Make at least a small dent in my BEA stack, but also read some random books entirely for pleasure
- Listen to one audiobook
- Participate in the Twitter chats (view the Official Schedule)
- Update Twitter at least three times per day
- Participate in some challenges (view the Official Schedule)

I hope the week is relaxing and FULL of awesome books! ?
Oh, gosh, me too! I had a bit of a slump there, with The Last Princess and Wake. *shakes them off*
Goooooooo Ruby!
WOO! *shakes pompoms* *executes high kick without falling over* WOO!
Well of course you had to drop your ban for Bout-of-Books! LOL! Good luck, enjoy your stay-cation and have fun!
Right now, it’s too hot to have fun. I can barely concentrate, and I’m sitting in front of the a/c. I HATE HEAT WAVES.
I need a staycation where I do nothing but read! Sounds awesome, and I’m so excited to see SKYLARK on there. I hope you enjoy!
Oh, Meagan, I LOVED it. I want more, pronto!
Have a good vacation and enjoy the books! I keep seeing Throne of Glass and now I think I need to buy it
One of my blogging besties Special Shelfed it, so I’m expecting great things!

Good luck! I hope you have a really good time
Thanks! I hope so, too!
I can’t wait to read Origin, it looks interesting.
Enjoy your staycation! I’m jealous, hah.
Origin is pretty good, so far. I’m not crazy about the jungle setting because I go all, EW, BUGS! SNAKES! POISONOUS FROGS! but I’m warming to the heroine, and the concept is pretty gnarly. Oh, and the hero is hot and always shirtless.
Pushing the Limits was amazing. Can’t wait to see what you think of it. And I have Skylark on my to read list and never got around to reading it. I hear it’s good though. Good luck this week =)
Some people are loving Pushing the Limits and some are saying, it’s not worth all the hype. I started it, and I’ll admit it’s got its moments, but it’s nowhere near living up to Perfect Chemistry, which I was told it would do.
Skylark was fantastic. I highly recommend it!
Yay Ruby! Enjoy the staycation and I hope you get lots of reading done.
PS – regarding Persuasion. I finished it last night and totally got teary-eyed and choked up at the letter – THE LETTER! *sob* – that Wentworth hands her at the end. I’m going to put up a discussion post on it on Wednesday, so feel free to chime in.
I can’t wait! The LETTER is what people usually get worked up about in Persuasion–and it’s awesome, I grant you–but my favorite part is when Wentworth has Anne get in the carriage with his sister because he notices she’s all tired from the walk. You know that’s what’s going on, but Anne doesn’t. It gets me all swoony, just thinking about it.
Can’t wait to see what you think about Throne of Glass…lots of excitement about the book.
Good Luck & glad you are joining us.
I’m worried about Throne of Glass because of all the excitement. It’s starting to make me get that perverse, I won’t like it because it’s so popular feeling.
I’m glad I joined, too! I’m having fun.
Ooh can’t wait to hear your thoughts on Origin!
Good luck this week
So far, so good. The heroine–Pia–was a bit much in the beginning, but that was intentional. Now that she’s gotten out a bit, she’s less invested in her perfection. That was blah.
Thanks, you too!
I really hope you enjoy this read-a-thon AND your vacation! Your post is also laid out beautifully. I’m jealous!
*\o/* Go Ruby! Go! *\o/*
Thanks for the cheering! I used the post template from the Bout of Books blog. It’s here: http://boutofbooks.blogspot.com/p/goals-post-template.html
Lollygagging?!? No! Eh, I’m not making a lot of progress either, but I hope to make up for it later in the week.
