Ruby’s Bookish Bundles is a new feature I’m starting here on the blog. In it, I’m going to post about three books:
- Want Now: One recently released or already published title I’m lusting after.
- Want Soon: One upcoming title I’m looking forward to, based on things I’ve heard, the cover, and the description.
- Want Someday: One upcoming title I’ve heard about that sounds like it could be interested but is so far off into the future it doesn’t even have a cover yet.
I love discovering new books, and I love sharing about the books I discover. However, I’ve been wanting to do something a little different from (and more involved than) a WoW post, so I created this new feature for myself. Anyone is welcome to participate, or to share their own wants. If you do so on your own blog, leave a link so I can visit!
Stand alone stories are pretty good, but I also have a soft spot for series books. Here are a few that I’d like to get my hands on:
Want Now:
Maya Banks KGI series has been one of my favorite guilty pleasures. I was a bit disappointed that the last book introduced a paranormal element, but I’ve been waiting for Rio’s story for long enough. I’m willing to put up with a psychic ability or two, so long as the chemistry between Grace and Rio lives up to expectations. And, heck, this is Maya Banks, so I’m probably safe.
Qualifications: High intelligence, rock-hard body, military background.
Mission: Hostage/kidnap victim recovery. Intelligence gathering. Handling jobs the U.S. government can’t… They live by night.Grace Peterson is desperate, in hiding, and on the run after escaping a shadowy group determined to exploit her extraordinary ability to heal others. Her only lifeline—an unerring telepathic ability she shares with her sister—has been severed, leaving her alone and vulnerable. And time is fast running out…Enlisted to bring Grace home is Rio, relentless member of the KGI. He’s unprepared for his reaction to this wounded, damaged woman, and he’s fiercely determined to protect her from those who nearly destroyed her. In Rio, she finds a safe haven, and for the first time…hope. But the mission is far from over. The danger Grace has eluded is fast closing in. And now it’s pitching two lovers toward an unfamiliar horizon, with no place left to hide.

Want Soon:
I saw on Goodreads that Third Blood finally had a book cover. So, I contacted the publisher, who said that they’re hoping for a October or November publication date. I sure hope so! I’ve been looking forward to hearing more of Kita and Nathaniel’s story.

Want Someday:
by Mary E. Pearson
What sequels can’t you wait to get your hands on?

I’m so glad you brought this back! I was waiting for it. I actually started my own based on yours, well entirely like yours and will relink now that you’re up and running it again!
By the way, Third Blood looks GOOD!
Oh, yay! I’m so glad you’re doing this, too. I was hesitant to invite people because I don’t like to feel disappointed when people don’t seem interested. Definitely link up!
I was thinking something like this when I found yours so I named it Flock of Fiction and post on Fridays but I’m thinking something easier might be better. Besides, I may have to steal your button. Two wins there, link to your site every week and a cute button! Ohhh three wins, that takes care of my name issue too!
Love it!
ohhh.. link for this week is: http://myseryniti.wordpress.com/2012/07/20/flock-of-fiction-5/
Ooh, nice choices! Maya Banks is a hot writer–love her alpha men. And Kalayna Price…love her stuff.
Agreed–Maya Banks’ heroes are deliciously alpha. I wish her more risque stuff appealed to me more, but menages are outside my comfort zone.
Have you read the Haven books?
No, not yet. I’ve only read a couple of hers–and none with menages. I’m not opposed to multiples but they don’t always appeal.
I think the menage concept messes with my alpha hero obsession. I like a guy who isn’t willing to share. But not in a creepy, abusive, cutting you off from your family and friends kind of way.
I want your want now too! I have been good at holding to my buying ban but that book is pointing at me *sigh*
If you buy it, I’ll buy it.
