Bookish Bundles: Amnesia Stories #1

3 COMMENTS • This post is filed under: Bookish Bundles

Ruby’s Bookish Bundles is a new feature I’m starting here on the blog. In it, I’m going to post about three books:

I love discovering new books, and I love sharing about the books I discover. However, I’ve been wanting to do something a little different from (and more involved than) a WoW post, so I created this new feature for myself. Anyone is welcome to participate, or to share their own wants. If you do so on your own blog, leave a link so I can visit!

My love of amnesia stories probably started back when Elizabeth Wakefield was in an accident while riding on the back of Todd Wilkins’ motorcycle. Elizabeth was so different after that! Anyway, I like the idea of exploring who you would be if you didn’t have the memories you have. It’s a little different from starting life with a clean slate. When you do that, you’re a baby, and can’t remember. A–theoretically–clean slate as an adult (or a young one) is an endlessly fascinating concept to me. Check out the titles I dug up featuring this intriguing element:

Want Now:

I can’t remember if I’ve featured this one before. I found it ages ago, when I was searching for book recommendations with alpha heroes. But, since I recently read Echoes at Dawn, I’ve been wanting to get back into Romantic Suspense. So I researched my to-read shelf on Goodreads and found this gem.

A Hero’s Nightmare Gabe Renault doesn’t know why he was in a prison camp. He has no memory of the past three years or of the Navy Seal mission that went wrong. Only two things kept him going: thoughts of his wife and the certainty that he must escape. A Sudden Homecoming After Gabe is presumed dead, Helen Renault pulls the tattered pieces of her and her daughter’s lives back together. Married young and for all the wrong reasons, she’s standing on her own two feet at last-and proud of it. Then comes the biggest shock of all-Gabe returns home. Gone is the distant, secretive husband he once was. This new Gabe is a man she could easily, finally, lose her heart to. But his memory is slowly returning, exposing a trail of government treachery…and jeopardizing his and Helen’s second chance at love.

Want Soon:

Aaaaaacutally, you’re the one that’s going to want this one. It’s a bit paranormal, but totally rocks in a Jason Bourne kind of way. I mean, seriously–this one is off to a fantastic start. It even has a female MC written by a man and I don’t care! I can’t wait to finish it.

Miranda wakes up alone on a park bench with no memory. In her panic, she releases a mysterious energy that incites pure terror in everyone around her. Except Peter, a boy who isn’t at all surprised by Miranda’s shocking ability.
Left with no choice but to trust this stranger, Miranda discovers she was trained to be a weapon and is part of an elite force of genetically-altered teens who possess flawless combat skills and powers strong enough to destroy a city. But adjusting to her old life isn’t easy–especially with Noah, the boyfriend she can’t remember loving. Then Miranda uncovers a dark truth that sets her team on the run. Suddenly her past doesn’t seem to matter…when there may not be a future.
Dan Krokos’ debut is a tour-de-force of non-stop action that will leave readers begging for the next book in this bold and powerful new series.

Want Someday:

Unremembered has been on my wishlist for a while, but it recently got a cover design. I’m hoping that it’s as good as the description.

The only thing worse than forgetting her past… is remembering it.When Freedom Airlines flight 121 went down over the Pacific Ocean, no one ever expected to find survivors. Which is why the sixteen-year-old girl discovered floating among the wreckage—alive—is making headlines across the globe.

Even more strange is that her body is miraculously unharmed and she has no memories of boarding the plane. She has no memories of her life before the crash. She has no memories period. No one knows how she survived. No one knows why she wasn’t on the passenger manifest. And no one can explain why her DNA and fingerprints can’t be found in a single database in the world.

Crippled by a world she doesn’t know, plagued by abilities she doesn’t understand, and haunted by a looming threat she can’t remember, Seraphina struggles to piece together her forgotten past and discover who she really is. But with every clue only comes more questions. And she’s running out of time to answer them.

Her only hope is a strangely alluring boy who claims to know her from before the crash. Who claims they were in love. But can she really trust him? And will he be able to protect her from the people who have been making her forget?

From popular young adult author, Jessica Brody comes a mesmerizing and suspenseful new series, set in a world where science knows no boundaries, memories are manipulated, and true love can never be forgotten.

As always, feel free to recommend any titles you’ve come across, are waiting on, or have just plain piqued your interested. This goes quadruple for #NakedWerewolf books!

Go on, tell the world!
